About

Artist Statement

My current work within the medium of painting and exploration within the areas of printmaking and sculpture play on the idea of memories, specifically, the emotions connected to those memories. It also explores how the color palette affects the viewer's thoughts on what type of memory it is perceived as. Within this idea, I am also using an amorphous form to contain the thoughts and emotions within that specific memory frame. Despite showing up in most of my pieces, this irregular form evolves as I explore this theme. These forms are meant to represent where the figure would have been within the frame. Therefore, taking on a really loose and unrecognizable form as it is a loose representation of the figure. These forms even go beyond their environment of memories in which I explore how many of these forms can relate to different environments as well as with each other.
